About Crete Sailing
 Born in Athens in 1973, Yiorgos Nicolaides, the owner of Crete Sailing, has loved the water from the beginning of his life. A keen swimmer and water-polo player for many years, Yiorgos has always been a sea loving person. Raised in Porto-Rafti, a seaside suburb of Athens, he was attracted by anything having to do with water. When he was nine years old, his father bought him a fishing boat and he started to explore and enjoy the sea. Speed boats, sailing boats, skiing, diving or just swimming, have all been part of his life for some time.
Married with one child, he lives in Heraklion, the capital of Crete, making his dream a reality with his company Crete Sailing. Experienced in racing and skippering yachts throughout the Mediterranean, Adriatic, Ionion & Aegean Seas, he is someone you can trust to organize your sailing holday in Crete.
Finally, he speaks English (having studied in Plymouth, England) & French, adores children and he always gives equal consideration to enjoyment and safety at sea. At the end of your trip you will have a good life long friend in Crete!
